Gamestorming Session for Mid-Market Magic Gameference and Code Hero Demo - Sept. 25th, 3pm

The Innovation Management Institute is hosting a Mid Market Magic Gameference in October--an all-day game in which teams will compete to radically reimagine and design ways to revive the Central Market Street District of San Francisco. Through gameplay we want to delve into alternate realities where district employees, residents, homeless, and tourists can all thrive and mingle in a vibrant and sustainable system. As we move through the game we want to stress-test these systems and see which ones can be brought to life. Along the way we want to draw inspiration from the alternative financial systems and maker culture, as well as the growing sharing economy, the social enterprise revolution, and other not-yet-mainstream models.

SF Decompression Call for Volunteers

The Man burns in three hundred and too many dust-free days to count, but don't fear!
SF Decompression is less than a month away on October 9th, and we need your help.

The list of artists and entertainers is filling up, all we need now is volunteers to make it all happen.
Without volunteers, events like decompression wouldn't be possible. Relive the playa spirit by giving back to the community and volunteering your time and efforts for this great event. There's still plenty of time to have fun in addition to a volunteer shift.

We need help with setting up the infrastructure, decorating, working will-call gates, serving food to staff and performers, helping running stages, and the ever so important task of breaking down at the end of the night. And if you're really eager, and if you actually care about showing appreciation for using the real-estate that is Decompression, you can come help clean up the day after. We are all firm believers in Leaving No Trace, right? And many hands make light work... and fun conversation.

If you are interested in volunteering, please follow this link to learn more about our needs, and to sign up. http://tinyurl.com/3klm4lg

You can contact us at sevolunteers@burningman.com if you have any questions or concerns about volunteering.

Artists, theme camps, and performers should email flambelounge@burningman.com

Attention Mutant Vehicle owners!!!

Your creations amazed us on the Playa; now, let's take them to the streets of San Francisco to support a clean energy future!

Moving Planet is pleased to invite alternatively powered Mutant Vehicles (those not using fossil fuels) to our day of action on Saturday September 24th! Examples of desired vehicles are: Electrics / EVs, Bio-Fuels, Solar, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Hydrogen/Fuel Cell and of course ANYTHING people powered! (Email me to register your vehicle)

Moving Planet is an international day of action dedicated to moving our planet beyond fossil fuels. Hundreds of events are planned in cities around the world as part of this global celebration of our commitment to a clean energy future. 350.org’s past days of action have been enormous (CNN called our 2009 events “the most widespread day of political action in the planet’s history”) and Moving Planet will be no exception.

San Francisco will be the global hub for Moving Planet and one of our largest events. That’s one reason why we’re partnering with the National Organization of Women (N.O.W.) and the Sierra Club to celebrate international peace through sustainability. We’re expecting 3-5,000 residents from across the Bay Area to ride bikes, take ferries, and walk to downtown for a parade from Justin Herman Plaza to the Civic Center. Speakers will include Bill McKibben, co-founder of 350.org, Mike Brune, executive director of the Sierra Club, environmental justice leader Carl Anthony and others.

Have you ever asked yourself "How can Burning Man better affect the outside world?" Well, this is a direct opportunity to do so as a powerful, visual spectacle for the press and onlookers at this amazing, world-altering event.

Check out this link to learn more about our event and MAKE SURE TO EMAIL ME TO REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE: Brandon Bosch ( Brandon.Bosch@PresidioMBA.org )

Thank you for the amazing Burn and for your participation in this important day. Please tell your friends, family, whoever to show up @ Justin Herman Plaza @ Noon on September 24th to help us all Move Away from Fossil Fuels!

Brandon Bosch
